Region: Yoho National Park

Yoho National Park is a smaller national park situated directly west of Banff National Park and completely in British Columbia. This spectacular park spans from the high, glaciated peaks of the Wapta and Waputik icefield to the relatively close Lake Louise area and then west almost to Golden and the Columbia Valley. When looking at it on a map, Yoho feels more cozy than all the other parks and it is easy to see how one could experience all of its beauty and know it well, even if it might take a while. The main artery of the park is The Trans Canada Highway (Highway 1), which passes through the main hub of Field. Most of the parks areas are accessible by a days walk or less, with the main attractions to the park being the hiking and glaciated terrain. Popular spots include the Burgess Shale, Emerald Lake, Takakkaw Falls, and the Lake O'Hara area.
